Q: What is the BIGGEST word you’ve seen used in a book lately – that made you stop and look it up? Might as well leave the definition & book too.
A: To be honest, I don't find many words I don't know. It's probably a combination of my reading mostly YA books and my having a large vocabulary anyway. They say lots of reading can do that to you! Plus, I'm too lazy to look a word up. I just figure it out from its context. The last complicated book I read was Game of Thrones. I admit to having to look up who characters and places were because I had forgotten! Sorry if you think this answer is a cop-out. (Ha).

Whilst I don't struggle too much with AGOT I do however know what you mean :D

Yeah, it wasn't the best book to read on my 30 min lunch breaks. :)
DeleteHi, I'm a new follower through GFC =)
ReplyDeleteA Song of Ice and Fire can be tricky with all the names sometimes, it's dangerous if you leave it too long between books as well - you're likely to forget who's who, unless they're a major character xD

Yeah I have the 2nd book on my shelf yet to be read. I put if off because it's been awhile and just making it worse. lol.
DeleteThanks for following!
I could never keep up with all of the characters and who was a vassal of which family and who were allies or enemies. It's still one of my all time favorite series though and I'm loving the TV series. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm returning the follow.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to watch the TV series! Thanks for the follow.
DeleteHopping through. I'm excited to read Game of Thrones. I bet there are tons of tricky words in it.
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
A Song of Ice and Fire is indeed tricky but I had issues not with words but with pronunciation HAHA

I should probably watch the TV series to see if I pronounce things incorrectly. I probably do! Thanks for following!

ReplyDeleteI love how you don't run across a lot of new vocab! I wish that were me.
Yeah too much reading and taking latin-based languages help soooo much! Thanks for following!

I have the first four books of the Song of Ice and Fire looming in a pile in my room, waiting to be read. I don't think having to look up characters in that series is a cop-out answer.
ReplyDeleteFollowing you back. :)
I've got the second one lined up. Thanks for making me feel better! And for the follow. :)
DeleteI feel exactly the same way! I always have issues with books with tons of characters (or characters with weird names) so I have to keep going back and forth!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! New follower :)
I have problems with names in real life! Thanks for returning the follow. :)
DeleteI haven't read Game of Thrones yet, but I have a feeling I will have to look up a few words in it.

Thanks for following!
DeleteI have the same problem, for one I just don't come across that many words that I don't know, mostly due to reading YA. And two, I'm totally too lazy! I even have a dictionary built into my kindle and I couldn't be bothered to look things up! ;)
ReplyDeleteNew follower here, hooray!
Thanks for stopping by my FF's for this week Book Me! and

I always feel like that with TV series. I can never remember all the characters and I always feel like they all blend together. I'll get the hang of it after a while, but still...
ReplyDeleteFollowed you back!
I couldn't remember coming across a word I didn't know either. I'm sure I have, just can't remember when the last time was. New Follower.
